Shabby Chic Inspiration

So life has a way of going so fast that you can't just can't believe, when you actually have a minute to sit down, that you seemed to have lost track of all your days.  That was my case this week!  I had hopes of spending time on here last weekend to get things in order and touch base but as you can see sometimes the best laid out plans fail.  One project I wanted to work on was Shabby Chic Sunday Blogs.  It's something I want to play with because I don't know about anyone else but I LOVE shabby chic right now!!  In the next few weeks I'm going to try and incorporate some of these beautiful inspirations into my photography.  Heck, I would love to redo my entire house in Shabby Chic design.  I've fallen in love with the website http://www.etsy.com/.  It's got so many items that I want to buy but due to that fact that I need to eat, pay my mortgage and bills I can't go crazy with my credit card :)  I have two photoshoots this weekend that I'm going to play with and I'm so excited to use some of my recent purchases.

Since I didn't get to post any of my favorite Shabby Chic inspirations this Sunday I'm going to post them now.  I've been on the internet for at least an hour trying to find inspiration for Madelynn's 3rd birthday party as well as a wedding shoot I have this summer and I found some images that I would love to share.  If you know of any other sites that I could go to for this type of thing by all means PLEASE share - I just can't get enough!

Baby Belly With Miss C

  So a dear friend of mine happens to be having a baby in just a few weeks and I'm so excited!  I was so fortunate that she was willing to be my model for the day on Thursday so I could get some pictures of that cute belly.  It turned out to be such a fantastic day; great light, ice cream and a tour to all the best spots in town from my model/tour guide.  What a fun girly day.  Miss C knew me well when she took me to a park that had so many photographing locations that I could have kept going all day!

I think my favorite part of the day had to be when we did the outfit change incognito right in the middle of the park with joggers coming down the path.  What a classy event; me standing guard for peepers and Miss C changing beside the garbage can.  I did snap a picture but at the request of my subject I won't be putting it up LOL!  What a great sport.

Anyway, I'm putting up a few of my favs out of the ones I've done already.  I can't wait to get my hands on
that little baby!

New Change :: New City/New Friends/New Life

Well, this is my officially my very first blog post!  I felt like it was time to get one up and running finally while I had nothing but time on my hands...being at home has been glorious!  It's been a little over a month since we moved from our last home in Fort St. John to the big (bigger) city of Grande Prairie.  Even though it's just a hop, skip and a jump from Fort St. John the transition in this new place to become an official Albertan has been a hair pulling experience!  At least I've been having a blast hanging with my best friend and 2 1/2 year old daughter Madelynn since we moved and I've treasured every day with her.

Since I have so much "Ashley" time I've reorganized all my bills, cleaned my house including my blinds, weeded and maintained my facebook pages and finally, I started a blog so that I can keep in touch with everyone and have some fun with some new projects I've lined up for the spring/summer.

One major plus side about living in a bigger place is the variety for shopping.  My heart did a little flutter yesterday when I happened to be blissfully shopping and I found the lens I've had my eye on for a while!  It was right there for purchase, no internet ordering or travelling to go get it!  It's the Nikkor 50mm f1.8 prime lens.  I've been wanting to practice some new skills this year and wanted to be able to add this one to my collection, well now the wait in no longer!

As soon as the weather clears up (it snowed today...gag) I plan on hitting up the beautiful park here in town and taking my very busy daughter out for some well needed picures for Grandma.  I'm so excited!  I'll post those as soon as I can.

I'm looking forward to the new possibilities here in this city and the new people I get to meet :)
